Mario Botta is a renowned architect and designer from Switzerland. Born in 1943, he has a background in postmodern design and studied at the Liceo Artistico in Milan and the University of Architecture in Venice. Throughout his career, Botta has worked with some of the most influential figures in architecture, including Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, designing both houses and churches. His work is characterized by strong geometric forms, which are also evident in his lighting designs. One such design is the Zefiro chandelier, which combines metal tubing and folded perforated sheet metal to create a striking geometric pendant lamp.
