Jorge Zalszupin 'Petalas' coffee table
L’Atelier, Brazil, c1960s
£16,500
Beautiful and rare 'Petalas' coffee table, designed by Jorge Zalszupin and produced by his own company, L’Atelier, Brazil, 1959. The Petalas table was inspired by the folded paper forms of origami. It is composed of eight petal-shaped panels of layered Jacaranda set on a circular metal frame, together forming an elegant octagonal shape.
This large coffee table showcases the beautiful grain of the Jacaranda and its remarkable dark flames, converging elegantly at the center. The wood has been fully refinished and is in very good condition, revealing a warm, deep tone that highlights its fine craftsmanship.
Sourced from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Overall in very good condition, showing minor signs of wear and small marks consistent with use.
