Jorge Zalszupin 'Petalas' coffee table
L’Atelier, Brazil, c1960s
£16,500
Beautiful and rare 'Petalas' coffee table, designed by Jorge Zalszupin and produced by his own company, L’Atelier, Brazil, 1959. The Petalas table was inspired by the folded paper forms of origami. It is composed of eight petal-shaped panels of layered Jacaranda set on a circular metal frame, together forming an elegant octagonal shape.
This large coffee table features the natural beauty of Jacaranda wood, with its distinctive dark grain patterns. The surface has been refinished, giving it a warm, rich tone and a smooth finish.
Sourced from São Paulo, Brazil. In good overall condition, with light marks and wear consistent with normal use. Both the wood and the metal frame have been restored.
