Otto Schulz, the German-Swedish interior designer and architect, played a key role in Swedish design history through his company, Boet. After moving to Sweden in 1907, he worked at the carpentry firm Selander & Söner in Gothenburg before founding his own company in 1910. Initially focused on designing ship interiors, his career took a turn in 1917 when he was commissioned to design the Bräutigams Konditori, a prestigious patisserie in Gothenburg that became a social hub. This project helped showcase his work to a broader audience, and in 1920, he went on to establish the Boet department store.

The fabric is in very good condition, while the legs and frame show signs of wear due to age.
